Horse:
Ted's Walkin' On Edge
-
Ted's Walkin' On Edge, also known around the barn as
"Teddy", is a three year old, gorgeous red bay, registered Tennessee
Walking Horse gelding. He stands at about 14.3hh. This horse was born,
raised, and trained by us. Like all of our trail horses they have only
had ONE owner, that way, we can tell the potential buyer EVERYTHING
about the horse and know what we're talking about. Teddy is no
exception. He is a lean built, refined looking gelding with the most
fabulous red bay coloring. He has no facial markings and one white hind
sock. Teddy has a thick, long mane and tail. Teddy, like all of our
horses has superb ground manners. He stands still to be bridled, tacked,
groomed, fly sprayed and to mount/dismount. This horse has been on many
many trail rides. You can ride this confident guy out on the trails
alone or in a large group. He will lead the pack on the trail or follow
in the middle or bring up the rear. He has been tethered on over night
camping trips and stands quietly all night long. Teddy is a very
loveable guy and likes to be loved and talked to. He deserves it too
after a 6 hour, strenuous trail ride and he NEVER quits, or gets loose
or sloppy in his gait. He gives it 110% the whole way through. Teddy can
dog walk all day long on a loose rein, or pick it up and carry the mail!
Another good trait of his is that you can cluck to him to pick it up and
he will stay set in his gait without further prompting. When you're
ready to bring him down to a walk from his running walk, simply tell him
"Easy Walk". He stops dead on a single "Whoa" command! And Ted has a
very easy, soft mouth that doesn't require more than a finger tip touch.
Ted's running walk is fabulous. But pick him up and this dude can saddle
gait faster than most horses canter! It is a steppy, racking-type gait
if you allow him to go that speed, and its amazing, you can literally
hold a glass of water and never spill a drop. So this horses' gait will
suit just about any trail rider...if you like 'em to run walk and glide
or pick em up and put em down in that fast rack, he can do them both
with just the click of the rider's tongue. Ted rides in a double twisted
wire bit with minimal curb chain. He single reins. Teddy has never had a
pair of shoes on and doesn't need them unless the new buyer wants them.
He is ridden barefoot on gravel, creek beds, rocky terrain and never
falters or acts as though it bothers him. All of our horses are barefoot
trimmed and kept, and we know what we are doing and prepare our horses
properly. They are ALL completely natural. Teddy is offered for sale for
$3,500. No trades. Additional photos, videos upon request. Serious
inquiries only please. Video is available of Teddy on
